SecretaryLloyd, Harold
Early Harold Lloyd photo's are actually autographed by his father, Foxy Lloyd.
Foxy (who had a serious alcohol problem) was employed in the Harold Lloyd Corporation as his son's official autograph signer (he also maintained his scrapbooks, documenting HL's career) until 1936 when he retired to Palm Springs. Foxy's handwriting is really easy to identify--- it's practically calligraphic, in fountain pen or pen and ink, straight out of the 19th century, very florid style. 99% of pre-1936 HL's autographs are by Foxy Lloyd. Most of the 1936-later material exists on scraps of paper, not on photographs. Lloyd's signature DID improve as he aged... but it never looked like anything Foxy did. Harold became an important member of the Shriner's organization in the late 1940's and coordinated hospital funding and performed a lot of charity work. A lot of Shriner's-related autographed material exists.
